How Does a Charm Bar Work? Your Charm Club Questions Answered

How Does a Charm Bar Work? Your Charm Club Questions Answered

Since launching The Charm Club, we've had so many lovely messages asking exactly how it all works. So we thought it was about time we answered the most common questions in one place.

What actually is a charm bar?

A charm bar is a “build your own” jewellery experience. Rather than buying a finished piece, you choose your a chain and then select your favourite charms to add to it. Totally customisable, you decide how many charms and where you want to place them.

How do I choose my chain?

The Charm Club offers a different selection of chains depending on what jewellery you're making. Our necklace builder, bracelet builder, and keychain builder each have their own range of chain styles, from plain to textured, simple links to multi style links, so you can pick whichever suits your style.

How many charms can I add?

This depends on the chain you choose and how many anchor points it has. Generally, necklaces allow for the most charms, with bracelets and keychains offering a slightly smaller selection — perfect for a more delicate, considered look.

Do I need any tools?

We definitely recommend using jewellery pliers. As the metal is Stainless steel it is strong and durable, so the jump rings used to attach your charms will need a bit of help to open and close. We offer a set of 2 pairs of pliers and recommend you add these to your first order if you don’t have suitable pliers at home, then keep safe for any future orders.

Can I send it as a gift?

Yes! Every Charm Club kit arrives beautifully packaged and with full instructions so it would be perfect as a gift.. You can build it yourself and gift the finished piece, or let the recipient build their own from scratch as part of the fun.

Where can I try it?

You can build your kit online any time at The Charm Club, or come and find us in person, we are based in South Wales and we'll be bringing The Charm Club to festivals and popups throughout the summer. Follow The Charm Club from WeldedbySPJ on instagram for upcoming dates.

We hope that answers everything — but if you still have a question, just send us a message. We love talking charms.
